The Herndon Gallery's first show of the 2005-2006 season features an historical exhibit of black and white photographs of Tibetan monks from 1932 and an eclectic collection of contemporary color photographs taken by the monks themselves.

Tuesday, October 11th in the Herndon Gallery at 7pm
Screening of Voices in Exile, a film by first-time Tibetan director Tenzin Wangden Andrugtstang that presents the Tibetan exile community from the rarely seen Tibetan point of view. As the Tibetan people stand at the edge of extinction, Voices in Exile speaks out against the continued brutal policies of the Chinese government.
Tuesday, October 25th in the Herndon Gallery at 7pm
Joe Mickey, the coordinator of the Tibetan Photo Project will give a slide/lecture presentation about the origination and expansion of the project.

ABOUT THE HERNDON GALLERY
Founded in 1994 with the support of Terry and Eva Herndon, the Herndon Gallery presents contemporary art exhibitions and hosts a variety of community events. Past exhibitions have featured contemporary Native American and Latin American art as well as the work of national and regional painters, sculptors and photographers. The gallery presents four exhibitions per year, including an exhibition of work by graduating seniors each spring.
