Ecocamps


Overnight Camps

Monday 9:00 am through Friday at 2:00 pm.
Parents are welcome to come on Friday at 2:00 pm to see a short production by campers highlighting their experiences.
Fee for overnight camps: $275

Glen Safari (ages 8-10)
Weeks 1, 5
You’ll spend a whole week discovering the wild things of the Glen! You’ll learn how to call owls, track animals, explore a cave, and much more! You will also get to take care of the Outdoor Education Center’s resident turtles and snakes.


Trailblazers (ages 8-10)
Weeks 3, 5

This camp is for the adventurer! You’ll travel many of Glen Helen’s trails, hiking through forests, over streams, and meandering through meadows. Visits to hike in John Bryan State Park and Clifton Gorge make this camp extra special!

Aqua Explorers (ages 9-11)
Weeks 1, 6

Get wet and wild exploring water systems! Explore pretty ponds, quick creeks, and mucky bogs as you discover the water cycle through a variety of games and activities. Go on an in-depth stream study to discover the health of a local creek. The wetter the better!

Frontier Ohio (ages 9-11)
Weeks 2, 4, 6

Find out what life was like for kids along the Ohio River in 1796, as you learn about pioneers and Native Americans. Experiment with pioneer cooking, learn pioneer crafts, and sleep in a log cabin. You will even get to see the outdoor drama Bluejacket!

Rocks Fossils and Bones (ages 9-11)
Week 3

Explore the Glen! Build volcanoes! Make fossils! Learn more about the Earth: this camp ROCKS! We’ll take a field trip to Caesar Creek for fossil hunting and swimming.

8-10 Year-Olds: Weeks 1, 5

11-13 Year-Olds: Weeks 4, 6
Let explorations in the Glen inspire you, then express yourself in a variety of media: paint, dye, dance, poetry, dramatics, clay and more! Uncover your talents and let them shine!

Raptor Camp (ages 11-13)
Week 1

Learn about hawks, eagles, and owls. Search for raptors in the Glen and take trips to raptor habitats and nesting sites. You’ll even care for a resident bird of prey at our Raptor Center.

Night Camp (ages 11-13, 13-14, and 14-15)
11-13 Year-Olds: Weeks 2, 3, 4, 5
13-14 Year-Olds: Weeks 2, 4, 6

14-15 Year-Olds: Weeks 6
Sign up early for our most popular camp! Become a nocturnal animal, sleeping by day and exploring Glen Helen by night. Flying squirrels, owls and luna moths will be your nighttime companions as you meander through the moonlight.


Wilderness Survival (ages 12-14)
Weeks 2, 3, 6

Sharpen your senses and learn essential survival skills! You will build a fire, construct an emergency shelter, and find food in the forest. Connect with the wilderness and learn how to survive.
