Scholarly Interests

Before coming to Antioch, Janice was an Assistant Professor of the Graduate Faculty at the New School for Social Research. She has also taught at the University of Munich.

Awards from the Sloan foundation and the Bradley foundation supported Janice’s research into comparative European economic systems during the period of industrialization. In her teaching and research, she focuses on issues of economic development. In particular, social capital development, institutional change, and transaction cost economics are important parts of her work. Janice’s research has been published in The Journal of Economic History and Essays in Economic and Business History.
